Yoga Pearl Teaching Mentorship
Hone your teaching skills and gain confidence in the front of the room with a mentorship program designed around your experience. This program is great if you have been teaching for years and want to refresh or you are just out of a training and want more experience before applying for teaching positions.
Why do a mentorship?
Often yoga teachers spend years honing their skills in a process of trial and error. We begin in environments such as gyms, community centers and with friends and family before getting to teach our dream students in our dream studios. Wouldn't it be nice to take a more direct path to sharing our love of yoga? This Mentorship Program is designed to do just that. It accelerates the experiential learning needed for us to become confident and effective yoga teachers.
The mentorship is as long as is needed by the individual. We go month by month and check in together to see if we feel complete. It does depend on how much effort you put into it. We have had mentorships that were a month long and others that were 6 months long. It typically takes 3 months to be ready to audition for Yoga Pearl.
What You’ll Get
To teach a community class once a week with a one on one feedback session directly after. This part speeds up a new teacher's learning immensely because we get to highlight what you are trying to do as a teacher and can help guide you on how to do it more seamlessly than if you teach by yourself with no feedback after. This just rockets teachers learning forward like nothing else. We have also seen how helpful it is just to have the opportunity to practice teach in a supportive community.
Each month you will have two, one-on-one hour long sessions to go over whatever is uniquely needed by the mentee, be it how to incorporate dharma, sequencing, clear curing, hands on adjusting, teaching to the whole room or whatever else deeply matters to you.
Unlimited access to your Mentor via email and text for any and all thoughts, good ideas and questions that come up during the week. Often mentees use this time to bounce sequences back and forth over email to create super clear sequences.
Unlimited Yoga Pearl classes. This is so useful to your learning to be able to take as many classes as possible and also gives you the opportunity to observe class if we decide that is useful.
The mentorship replaces the need to have either a 500 hr certification or 5 years of teaching to audition for Yoga Pearl. After your mentorship is complete you get the opportunity to audition for Yoga Pearl and potentially secure a trial spot on the schedule that leads into a permanent spot.

Growing up an athlete and adventurer, Alia has always been committed to the notion that anything is possible, which subsequently led her to be a challenge for her teachers and peers.
The social freedom of college combined with the inherent challenge of collegiate academia for a day dreamer – Alia began down rocky path. That is, until she stepped into her first yoga class. The initial challenge of the physical postures appealed to her competitive nature and immediately calmed her anxious mind. Over the next few years she slowly found a bit of balance between socializing and school.
After college, Alia decided to take an adventure to Portland, OR where she got a job with Lululemon Athletica and dove into the eclectic offerings of the Portland yoga scene. She fell in love over and over again with every new style of yoga; realizing the power classes had offered her a lot of insight, but it was Yoga Nidra practice, in the Bhakti devotion that sparked a deeper understanding of the practice.
The combo of the freedom Alia felt in yoga and structure of the Lululemon culture reignited the "anything is possible" mindset once again. She set the goal to complete a 200 hour teacher training with Tiffany Cruikshank. During the year-long training, she began journaling and setting hefty goals. Alia's practice allowed her to keep on the path of intention, and meditation created space for new goals, ideas and ways of being.
She created a family out of strangers in Portland, and her practice led her to them. She moved back to Boulder in the summer of 2012 with the goal of opening a studio. She began teaching in the summer of 2013, quit her day job, and an incredible opportunity presented itself, in the way of partnering with vpk by Maharishi Ayurveda to opening a joint space focusing on a complimentary yoga offering for every lifestyle.
