Hey there, thanks for swinging by our website! My name is Alia Sebben, I am the owner of Yoga Pearl. I opened YP under the name Amana Yoga in downtown Boulder in 2014. At the time, I was a recent graduate of CU and had been teaching for a few years, thanks to the incredible 200-Hour Vinyasa training that I took with Yoga Medicine founder, Tiffany Cruikshank. Like many folks in their young 20's, I was a little lost after college. I received my BA in Art History and knew that I loved yoga, fitness and wellness. I spent much of my time at CU partying and developing bad habits and once I dedicated my time to yoga things began to change drastically! I moved to Portland, OR for a little while, took every style of yoga imaginable. I was hired by the Wanderlust Festival to organize community events throughout Canada and the US, began volunteering at the Yoga Journal Conferences and eventually decided to open my own yoga studio.
Since 2014, I've taught thousands of hours of classes, yoga teacher trainings, taught at Yoga on the Mountain Festival, created content for Gaiam's Yoga Studio app, written articles and worked as an editor for Yoga Journal magazine. I've taken trainings in Yoga Philosophy, Yoga History, Yin Yoga, Ayurveda, Advanced Anatomy and Alignment, Vedic Meditation, Prenatal Yoga, Nutrition Courses, Kettlebell Training and more!
When the pandemic hit, my business partner and I created an online platform called Fiteo, designed to help small fitness studios get online to host their live-streaming and pre-recorded content all in one place, with ease. We sold the software to over ten studios throughout the US. We acquired Yoga Pearl in Portland, OR and reopened under the new name in May 2021.
I am passionate about connecting wellness practitioners, small business owners and the community that we serve through Yoga Pearl to one another; and I'm truly honored to be able to share the practice of yoga and the culture of wellness with the Boulder community and beyond. Please reach out if you ever have questions, comments or feedback!
